III. Matters Covered, Interpretation and Gap-filling

The CISG is not a comprehensive legal system but only regulates certain aspects of law. With regard to matters covered by the CISG, the CISG bars the application of any domestic law provisions. With regard to any and all matters not covered by the CISG the domestic law remains applicable. It is therefore important to clearly define the regulatory scope of the CISG.
